When managing roles on your account, itβs important to understand how Active Jobs and Expired Jobs are defined.
Active jobs or Live jobs
Active Jobs or Live Jobs are roles that are currently open and accessible to candidates.
This means:
The job is live and visible (if published)
Public or private link, but active
Candidates can apply or be invited to interviews
Interviews linked to the job are still accessible
The job has not reached its expiry date
π In simple terms:
βActive Jobs /Live Jobs = Roles that are open and currently hiring
Expired Jobs
Expired Jobs are roles that are no longer active because they have passed their set expiry date or have been closed or archived.
This means:
The job is no longer visible to candidates
New applications or interview attempts are not allowed
Any pending interviews may no longer be accessible (depending on settings)
The role is effectively closed for hiring
π In simple terms:
βExpired Jobs = Roles that are closed and no longer accepting candidates
Key Difference
Status | Candidate Access | Accepting Applications | Interview Access |
Active Jobs | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Expired Jobs | No | No | To hiring manager or team |
Quick Example
You post a job with a 14-day deadline
During those 14 days β the job is Active
After day 14 β the job becomes Expired
Even though the job is expired, historical data (applications, interviews, reports) remains available for review.
Summary
Active Jobs are open, visible, and accepting candidates
Expired Jobs are closed and no longer accessible to candidates
Keep track of the number of live jobs, allocated as per your pricing plan. You can archive jobs to create new jobs.
Keeping track of job status helps you manage hiring efficiently and ensures a smooth experience for candidates.
