This feature, known as Candidate Retake Attempts Control, gives you greater flexibility and fairness in your screening process, whether you want to allow just one shot or give candidates a few tries to get it right.
Why Control Retake Attempts?
Encourages authenticity when limited to one or two attempts.
Reduces anxiety and improves candidate experience when more retakes are allowed.
Ensures consistency across candidates by standardizing retake permissions.
Gives recruiters control over how much preparation or polish is allowed per role type.
How to Set Retake Attempts
You can configure retake limits while setting up or editing a job interview:
Log in to your Interviewer.AI account.
Go to the Interviews section.
Click on +Create Interview or select Edit on an existing interview.
Scroll below the Job Description section.
Look for the section which says, More Options
There is a section called: Number of interview attempts per user after submission
Select the number of retakes you want to allow:0 (No retake allowed)
1 (One retry allowed)
2 (Two retries allowed)
Up to a maximum of 3 attempts.
Your Settings will get saved
Candidates will be able to click on the interview to proceed or it will say, this is a one-time link only if they try to retake the interview.
Best Practices
For customer-facing or high-pressure roles, consider limiting retakes to mimic real-time communication skills.
For entry-level or creative roles, offering more retakes can help candidates show their best selves.
Clearly mention the retake policy in your intro video or instructions to set expectations.
